there's still hope Pv Picotte , one of my small rose sticks is sprouting tiny leaves.. Do you have a fine hole cage you could put around iyour rose?

I'd let it be but still water if needed....No fertilizer...I'd also make a round wire cage out of fencing and put around it to keep animals from eating it.........

Deleafing a rose is one way to force it into dormancy........not kill it. While it may be just a bit early in the season for it to naturally enter dormancy, it will do nothing to harm it by encouraging it now. By October in the northern hemisphere, it is not necessary for the rose to continue to photosynthesize.

Pv Picotte, here I took one of my cages out of garage and put over flower to give you a general idea... BUT use fencing or hardware cloth with smaller holes....
