There are a couple of options for a great wood look without the worries of the scratches. One being porcelain tile that looks like wood. American Marazzi has a very nice handscraped one called american estates. Second option would be luxury vinyl planking. Don't the word vinyl scare you off, this is an extremely durable and easily maintained floor. Either option would give you the look of wood without the worries. The biggest difference is in the cost of install on the 2 products. Tile being more expensive. The 1st pic is the tile the second is luxury vinyl.
