I like paths to the door.

Do people park on the street? If they don't, so a front pathway wouldn't get any use, then no. If they do, plan the entire front landscaping fairly carefully. Getting the scale right on this is going to be a bit tricky. Because the front facade is so broken up, the house lacks presence, and is already a bit overpowered by the front lawn. A narrow, builder's special walk is going to look puny, but a wide, gracious walk is going to overpower the house even more.

Walk, redesigned foundation plantings, lawn trees - all of it is going to have to be designed as a unit. Don't plop a walk in the middle and think it is going to be solve anything by itself.

You mean a path from sidewalk to entry? That would create another way for guests to get to front door without having to walk up the driveway to sidewalk along front of house. I do think that’s a nice idea for your house & you have so many options for material of path & shape of it too. Your tree loss has given you an opportunity to create a new look for your yard scape & front of your home. I wouldn’t do a straight shot path from sidewalk to the front porch. Too blah. Is that a new tree in middle of lawn that’s replacing one you lost? I’d check around for a landscape designer who can draw out a plan that includes taking out some of your grass & adding some smaller shrubs along at least one side of path & maybe increasing size of planting beds at front of house. Drive around looking at nicely landscaped front yards to see what appeals to you. No idea where you are so no suggestions plant wise. But, this is a great project to plan now & get scheduled for spring.

I would do a walkway with maybe a bench in the middle. or a walkway with a picket fence on the front of the house to break things up. would also give ya lore privacy and you could make a bed in front and behind the fence.
