May be a sculptural lamp?

If it is close to natural light, I would put some plants on it. Perhaps put a narrow table or bench in front of it.

I lie the bowl idea and leaving it at that.

A bowl with keys is handy, but you should opt for height/balance/soften and importantly detract from all the sharp angles.

I love the big vases and abstract branches pictured above!

Is that an outlet on the right side? A small lamp for evening glow would be nice.
