Help with interior design!

Please help me create a lovely space for my family. I won’t be painting the walls since this is a rental for now. We can switch out the dining light. Thoughts on arrangement, rug, tv placement and should I replace mirror in arch with a wooden wavy mirror or paint it? Thank you so much! I am not good at designing. The style I like is bohemian and usually rich tones however this house is very white the kitchen is white as well. Would love to maybe bring more color in.

Is this the only room for a TV? IMO it is horrible how you have it . Are those cabinets built in ?They do not even suit the rest of the space . At least remove the shelving so that that does not add to the eye clutter .if the TV has to stay. I never like mirrors that reflect nothing worth seeing twice so a piece of art to replace that mirror above the FP for sure . This is arent for how long? Is the furniture also part of the rental ? I ask because nothing I see says bohemian to me . I think we need a lot more info please . Post the answers here in comments DO NOT start another post

Since it's a rental I would focus on using rugs to bring in color and pattern. You can take them with you, and since the floors are tile I think you really need them. The one in the living room just adds to the blah in the room. I wouldn't bother changing the mirror over the fireplace since it's a rental. What's there certainly fits the space well.

We can't see all the walls. Is that a wall behind the chair? To add color as you mentioned, I would replace the mirror with art and get a rug with some color.

This space doesn’t need to be bold color but I would like to make it make more sense and fell better. We are getting a larger tv. The tv placement is there for now because we have children and watch movies on the weekends. I am not a fan of the shelving there not the color. Since this is a rental for one year we will not be painting. The furniture is ours. I just purchased the rug for the space but u feel like it makes it all feel too plane. I also purchased the mirror for the arch as well. I might paint it gold.

I think your last comment cleared things up a bit…you are renting this house for one year right? I think most of us thought you were turning it into a rental. I would spend my time and money dreaming and scheming about my next home and really study what I love in design and function so when the time comes I’m ready to act I would spend little time trying to make things work in this house.
