This might be too bold for you, but Silestone makes a quartz called Awake that has both gold and gray. I've not seen it in person, so best to get samples before you decide:

The one you picked is a perfectly nice choice, especially if you want to also have a tile backsplash. If you go with the one I suggested, do the same material for the backsplash, not tile.

I like the direction Santina is going in. I don't see why you to want incorporate gray though. The gray trend is waning with the warmer tones taking their place.

Look for quartz that has the warm tones.

Pretty kitchen! Please check the specs of your range and the threads here on Houzz regarding quartz behind a range. Some folks have experienced scorch marks in the quartz while others have had no issues. Some ranges (like a pro style) might require use of a back guard to prevent scorching.

It's can be expensive so might not be possible, but Taj Mahal quartzite would be beautiful with your cabinets and is apparently quite durable.

Oh goodness thank you for this. Just a basic range- no pro style- but I had not heard of this. Our designer recommended using the quartz so I didnt know that was a possibility.

What size are you upper cabinets? I am doing stacked cabinets for my kitchen renovation - and am finalizing the sizing of the cabinets (how different sizes look in proportion to each other). My ceiling is 9' - how high is your ceiling?

Also - what color white paint did you use + what wood species/stain is on your island?

The cabinets are JSI Essex Dover White i bekieve and the island is Truffle. our designer did all of the specs so i dont know any of thatnoff hand but can find it.

I would really appreciate it. I think the proportion of your upper stacked cabinets looks nice. I've seen some where the stacked cabinet is too small (especially when they are glass ones) and they look "squatty" + I've also seen where the crown is too much (too many stacked pieces or just too tall in general).

Do you want a subtle looking faux marble countertop? There are some new countertops that have come out in the last couple years that aren't regular quartz. One has some recycled glass in it - the other uses recycled materials also, but I'm not sure what the material is (I can't remember). They use 5d technology (that's at least how one of the manufacturers refers to it) to create slabs that look more realistic than the previous faux marble options. I've seen some that are really bold (look like Calacatta Gold marble) and others that are more subtle.

They look more like porcelain slabs - and have a high definition print on them - but aren't pixelated. Apparently, they are fabricated the same way as quartz slabs = don't have the issues that porcelain slabs do re; cracking/chipping.

I also disagree that a marble countertop that has both warm and cool tones will look dated simply because the gray trend is over. There is real marble (and other types of natural stone) that combine cool and warm tones in one slab - and I don't think they look dated. I do think that faux marble quartz with bold gray veining has run it's course (not to say that those kitchens don't still look nice - it's just that A LOT of kitchens used that type of quartz countertop for several years - so, that look will connect the renovation (or initial build) of those particular kitchens to a certain time period (which is a normal part of design trends).

Awww you’re so sweet! Thank you!!! Yes! I love a subtle look of marble-it’s timeless. That’s what I meant with gray integration. It also leaves me options down the road. Our designer loves Calacatta Valentin and it’s very pretty but my husband wanting a whiter background. I’d love to know the names of the countertops you are talking about. I have not heard of that.

Do you have a specific fabricator you are using to do your top? If so , you should see what brands they carry. Most yards can get any brand BUT if they don't order from them on a regular basis, you will wind up paying more since it will be considered a special order ( at least that is how it is done around here ) .

Once you know what brands to look at, then go onto their websites so you can see what the whole slab will look like and even some vignettes to give you some ideas.

On a side note - It could be the angle of the picture but your ref looks awfully close to the island - can you get it out for the pocket?

its looking good. i would check on the hood vent though. i don't believe flexible ducting is to code ( at least in our area) and if it is, id still wouldn't recommend it for a stove vent.

I do not like quartz so can't help with thta but I would never use it as backspash behind a range or cooktop I aslo agree that venting is not a good choice for a hood how will you ever get that degreased down the road .I agree the cabinets are nice combo but please look at some natural stone there are so many beutiful ones that stand up to all that kitchens have to deal with . Check out White Gold granite polished it will be close to bullet proof and work perfectly as a backsplash
