There will be a better solution than plantation shutters.

And better than looking out over the kitchen. How much ocean view would either of you have from so far back?

The drawings cannot be enlarged and are still unreadable . MY hubby and I share a large office and at first I thought it would be horrible but I kind of like it all the printers etc are in one place a lot of wireless and we have big windows on 2 sides . I have no idea what the sutters purpose is at all. Take some time to do the to scale plans on graph paper with all windows and doorways clearly marked every measuremnt clearly marked posted here in jpeg format in a comment DO NOT start another post . Pictures of the space as it is are also great to get a feel for the spaces. I do not think there will be any view through the opening you want to close with shutters .

Focus on creating the ocean view from the most used public rooms. Not work rooms where you should be isolated from sounds and distractions. There would be no Zooming with shutters and open rooms.

Where's your architect in all of this?

HU, it completely depends on how you work. I work much better with noise and movement and distractions, I work great in public areas as long as there is no music, whereas DH needs quiet, and facing into a corner.

Every room of a long skinny house cannot face the beach. You need to prioritize the rooms that will. Are there multiple floors, a roof deck, etc? Those can contribute to views used on a sporadic basis.

We can''t even tell where the ocean is on that plan you posted.

Post a full version, with all the feet and inches of every wall and window, existing condition. Label the rooms.

We don't need the furniture.

Use a jpeg format, not a screen shot.

Why not have the offices directly around the kitchen area instead of a bedroom. You both will have access to the beach and also interact with each other by conjoining the rooms and have a jack and Jill bathroom. Is this the exact same plan or is there another where is in another location? I wouldn’t do those blinds above cabinets.

Is the beach is in a different location?

I think we can safely gather that the biggest windows and the deck face the beach.

Context is everything.

In a remodeling the existing conditions is a big driving force in the design, of which we know nothing.

With computer monitors blocking the view, and the view being compromised by looking through the kitchen (really, from a seated position in the offices, how much can you see over the countertops?) it might be better to move your desks into the bedroom by the ocean, or one there and one along the back wall of the living room. Think about how much time you spend in each room.
