Help with 4x8 subway tile placement

We will use 4x8 horizontal white subway tile and not sure if better to take it to the corner where the mirror walls meet or edge. We have a wall that protrudes like the example photos so showing both options.

So nothing like the spaces you show really. Post a pic of your space and your tile and where it is going. That is how you get help . Post the pics here in a comment DO NOT start another post . I hope no subway tile in the shower but maybe too late for that.

Sorry to hear you had a fire. If at all possible I would wait on that decision until you had a clearer picture of the wall and the actual layout. Without true context it is tough to offer much advice.

Sorry about the fire. If the room is not yet at a stage when a picture can be taken, you are probably a long way from tiling.. A photo, when available, would be very helpful. BTW, don’t be surprised if you also see questions about waterproofing on this site.

Thank you I appreciate the understanding. It will be repaired with roughly the same dimensions. Just water and smoke damage so currently in interior demo phase to studs.

That first photo is probably around 10" , so that should give you a good visual. Whether you tile it or not, will be personal preference.

Make sure you have (1) bullnose tile or (2) quarter round trim or (3) can order the outside tile with a glazed edge ... to cover the unfinished side of the tile at that outside corner.

Trying to miter the outside corner will be labor intensive and probably look chippy, so you need to plan how to handle it. Don't let the tile person tell you they can just butt the tiles and fill with grout ... that is shoddy work.

I like 12 x24 porcealian tile for both bathroom floors and shower walls and then if you want a bit of accent you can do a vertical strip not center on the back shower wall and use that tile for the backsplash . A lot less grout to clean and I use matching grout too. I use Schluter for the trim and corners a much cleaner look that bullnose IMO. BTW no niche at all just a nice shower caddy .

I like what they did in the second photo, i.e. used bullnose for the shower edge. But it's tough for us to comment more specifically since we don't know the look you're going for. Traditional? Modern? Somewhere in between? Because another option is to use Schluter edging if you're going with a more contemporary look.

Can you tell us what else you're putting in that bathroom re: colors, materials, etc? We have 2 x 8's placed vertically in our master bath, but our look is quite transitional.
