Our kitchen remodel is almost complete, but I'm still undecided about the 3-inch gap between the top of the cabinets and the ceiling. I originally planned to cover it with crown molding to keep dust out, but now that the cabinets are up, I like the gap and want to add strip lights to light up the space. What do you think?

If we leave the gap, what is the best way to maintain its cleanliness? I've heard that covering with wax paper and replacing it regularly can help prevent dust buildup. Is this effective, or is there a better approach?
