It's probably OK. A 36-inch walkway with no cabinets, appliances, etc., opening into the walkway and no workspace there as well should be fine.

I'm more concerned about the DW in the corner. How much filler is there b/w the corner & DW and b/w the peninsula's inside cabinet and corner?

My concern is the ability to open the drawer (or cabinet door) without hitting the DW as well as the ability to open the DW door w/o hitting the cabinet drawer or door hardware (or the cabinet itself).

It's likely you will need 6" of filler b/w the peninsula's inside cabinet and the corner.

Another option: Put in a 30" wide cabinet turned 180 degrees so it faces out. The extra 6" or so will act as filler without the loss of storage space.

What is the full depth of DW with the door closed, including handle? That's the key measurement!

Buehl thanks for your response and your extra examination of the overall. Yes we have the DW (and handle clearances) accounted for. Our cabinet maker was very meticulous about that issue and handled it exactly as you show in your middle picture. We will have access to the 30” cabinet from the opposite side!

I’d want the garbage pullout under the prep space, between the sink and range. It’s kind of inconvenient where you have it now.

I would think that if a stove, refrigerator and a wheelchair can fit through there, it should be fine.

Thanks everyone. We think it may be a bit tight but it is only a pass through and not a working area. The overall kitchen space is not big. (I have said from the beginning it is 2 ft 2 small all around- but we were never intending to knock down walls). It will be fine and we will get used to it. We appreciate all the feedback!
