Stone surround for fireplace

We will have a woodburning insert stove, with an arched top edge. I am not sure what is the most attractive and modern/current way to have the stone set along the top of the arched edge of the fireplace (we won't have the straight edge shown below, but will have the arched edge shown in the rest of the other photos). The rest of the stone surround, floor to ceiling, will be set like in the picture below, in a downstairs large entertainment room/area. I apologize for the blurry photos.

The stone we selected is this, creamy beige, Country Ledgestone in Wheaton (made by Cultured Stone):

Should we do a round trim of stone on top of the fireplace arch, like shown below:

Or should we go straight across with the stone, like in the example just below:

Or should we do something like below picture, with a larger stone at the top of the curved arch? It would not even stand out as much as shown here, because the stones we chose would be all the same light creamy color, the whole stone surround would be basically light creamy with a creamy mortar.

I like Revere Pewter with the stone. Tons of possibilities for accent colors.

I like the fan trim. I found this on their website and how they do the arch.

Really like the Wheaton. What will be your wall color? Here is the application with Wheaton (but no arch).

The Wheaton has no color variation. Pick something else that looks realistic.

The walls will be white. We like that light calm overall look.

Whoops, missed the fact you are going with white. White Dove would work very well with the stone. Found this blog about White Dove and what works with it.

I just finished a big job and the owner wanted white walls. We went with White Dove on walls (eggshell finish) and on the trim (semi-gloss finish) and the ceiling (matte finish). This was for the entire house as she wanted to add different, correlating colors into each room.

elcieg, Thanks, I actually have White Dove in my regular house. I love white walls. In the new house, walls were done in BM super white, it might be too 'white', but we could repaint it later.

White with white walls IMO is a big yawn.

Select a stone with some minor variations and it will be more interesting.

Beverly, I get your point, but this fireplace is not on the main floor, this fireplace is on the lower level, the ceiling is not high, there is less natural daylight so it should be ok. I like how the Ledgestone in Wheaton looks in the pictures on IG, it is very calming and restful.

Why in a modern space an arched top? Stacked stone is a dated look and IMO never was good in the interior of a home . If modern is the plan why not some large format tiles instead of stone for a much simpler more modern look and a lot easier to keep clean too.
