Agree white but not just white paint. Choose a white that is good with the countertops. And not just the red wall but all the walls in that seating space.

I agree the gray not nice and unfortunately the backslash is brand new. The mother-in-law did all this just before she ended up sick and in a home now we are stuck with it and trying to make it sellable. The rest of the condo is a decent color but it's not white, so I don't want to paint that red wall a lighter color than the rest of the place. So any other suggestions on a medium color that will maybe tone down that horrible gray other than bright white for now. If we we going to paint the whe place, Yes it would be white.

I’d still just do a warm white that matches the white in countertop & BS. The problem with the red is if a buyer doesn’t love it they’re thinking about how much primer & paint it will take to cover the red. And, since the rest of the walls look white tone, they should all be the same color. BTW, I don’t think the BS is a problem - it goes well with the cabs & counter. I would however paint the door the same color as trim.

WOW that's all sorts of bad choices! White all over. The gray on the cabinetry is horrendous. Maybe once white reigns the glass tile back splash won't look sooo dated?

The blue looks great. Many people are still choosing gray and that style backsplash, so I wouldn't worry about those. It looks fresh and clean and nicely done. someone will want it. Good luck!

Just match the creamy white that is in the kitchen…make the rooms cohesive..painting it a different color just cuts up the space and makes it apear smaller….the kitchen is already very cold…calm it down with a warm white..no blue!

The kitchen wall and living room wall are connected really not any other choice works appropriately with gray cabinets and warm tile and wood floors…..neutral is always the best choice when selling. What are the other colors on walls throughout the condo?

I think the blue Celery showed really brings everything together. It doesn't scream color that someone will immediately want to change. I don't think the lighter color looks as good. The addition of the rug helps, too.

Home Interiors With Ease the whole condo is painted that same light pinkish color that is above the cabinets. I think it's original from when the plave was built in the ninties

Oh my pinkish sounds horrible..I would find one warm white and paint all the walls…if it has been that long those walls need a refresh..will look great for resale..my daughter and her husband just moved into a home and they so much appreciated the neutral walls..now they can make it their own over time. I strongly suggest not to add any color.

To the rescue: B.M. Revere Pewter for all the walls. It will work with the kitchen floor, and the cabinets and the LVP floor.

I would get rid of the black sofa, and purchase a rug to cover the living area floor. This one is not expensive. Cover as much of the wood look floor as you can because even if the kitchen floor isn't the best choice, the living area floor isn't great either. So match your colors to the dominant which is the cabs, and kitchen floor.

If granddaughter is renting it, still paint it to make it look cohesive. That's what any tenant would want.

Yes it's for sale but near the end of the term with the realtor so she is going to move in and pay the condo fees and bills, we'll leave it off the market for a year or so and do some upgrades... it's complicated lol...

btw--I think the cabinet color and backsplash look nice! Not "on trend," but nothing wrong with that. Agree that a warm white on walls would be nice.

Update: The granddaughter agrees with white no problem. The actual cabinet color is Shirwin Williams - Serious Gray and much to my surprise it noted as an "expert pick".

It's a COOL gray and warm whites do go very well so I took my fan deck and Snow bound and Eider white looked good with the counter top.

Now at home fooling around on SW website and guess what, those 2 colors came up as complimentary colors for that horrendous gray. This reassured me of my hesitance towards a "warm" white.

Correct for above as you can't edit comments. warm whites do not go good with that situation being all cool tones except for the dated flooring but I'm working on that one too.......😉

They are going to replace all the flooring and agreed to paint the entire place! Bring on the flooring suggestions!!

I know the red wall is going away but I urge you to change it in your mockups / viewers so you can get a better idea of the flooring color. The red wall is way too distracting to even look at flooring.

ETA: because of the red, anything that’s a single flooring throughout the space looks great.

I get it! 😊 For the flooring, the most important compatibility match of the new flooring is with the cabinets. I’d suggest take a picture of the kitchen from a more distant vantage point that shows all of the cabinets & use that to select flooring. Pick the paint using that same pic since it’s BS & counter you want to blend with. I’d also urge you to buy a box of the flooring you decide on & lay it out in the space before ordering the entire floor material. The box of planks looks so drastically different than the 2x2 sample you get to bring home from the flooring store. The on line flooring viewer is helpful but it’s not ’real’. I learned this from personal experience & did buy the box before ordering. From the tiny bit of flooring I see in the one small kitchen pic, it does look like a possible choice for floor.

We had an appointment with a flooring company and came to the condo, I wasn't impressed. She brought in 2 books of vinyl plank and I only found a couple I thought would work, then she brought in one from her van that was instock from a order mistake that was double the price of the one we liked, but very light in my opinion but looked good in that poorly lit condo. These pics are from the website so might not look like that. The family is rushing it so the grand daughter can move in, they don't care much about design, is the lighter one okay? Also this will cost $12,000 installed for the 980 sq ft condo....
