IMO first fix your lighting those do not even look like the same floor in the pics. Wall color is chosen last for a reason . Your lighting , your stuff and the natural light all have aeffect on wall color. You do not have to choose a SW paint color they can color match almost every paint . THis is one reason why I like all LED 4000K lightinf but what ever you choose it has to be the same in all the spaces The lowest I ever go is 3500K after tha everything has ayellow glow. I am not a big lover of light blues in livingspaces they oftn look baby blue . This is my fave for a real neutral with a bit of color it works well with all wood and wood look all other colors too It is a BM color and do not substitue the SW Sea Salt they are not alike .I cut this 50% for that tiny hint of color .

Are you looking for a white, off white or medium tone? A color of some sort or a neutral? Can you post a picture of your living room since the color will also go there?

I appreciate your advice, Sheila and Patricia. Kandrewspa, here's a picture of the living room. We're looking for a neutral, light to medium tone.

Update: I spoke with our painter yesterday, and he's happy to use a Benjamin Moore color, also. I'm more familiar with Benjamin Moore colors, so we're going to use that brand instead of SW.

About the flooring: We didn't think to ask the installer to make a more random layout during the install. As you can see, there's a patch of somewhat darker planks in the lower right of the pictures. While it might look funny in the picture, it's more subtle in person. Just to the right of that darker section is our kitchen. The kitchen and living room are L-shaped.

We worked with a color consultant today who helped us narrow down our choices to Natural Cream, Edgecomb Gray, Balboa Mist, Pale Oak, and Cloud Cover in case we wanted to choose a white.

The ones recommended to you are good ones to try. I have used Pale Oak and Edgecomb Gray in my house. You will have to sample in your house to see which one you like best in the lighting conditions you have.

Thanks, kandrewspa. The color consultant we met with came to our house with large samples to test out in different spaces and lighting around our house. She also ordered large samples of our top five colors. My husband's favorite is the Cloud Cover since it's white. I love all of them but Pale Oak and Edgecomb Gray might be my top two favorites. We'll test them out in different rooms through the day and night and see which one is the winner.
