To start those all light the ceiling and IMO it is the table that needs to lighting and honestly until the new chairs are chosen I have no idea what your style is . I do not see the new kitchen so cannot even begin to advise . I sure hope the new one is a lot better than the old . I also think you can surely do better than those run of the mill lights. Are the same floors there, or did you replace them with a different kind when you ripped out the peninsula and put in the island?

These are just guidelines. Some chandeliers have heavier visual weight than others.

I'm not a designer but I believe that task lights in the kitchen should generally be in front of you, not behind you. That means that the recessed lights above the counter should be just before the counter edge so that they light the work area and will not create your shadow when you're standing in front of the counter chopping/prepping. But if you have undercabinet lighting, this may not be a problem. If you will be doing prep on the island, whether you are facing the wall or the sink window, the overhead lights will be behind you.

The size you have now is the right size scale off that.

Waht is the plan for lighting in the lkitchen I do think oyu need somemepdants to light the island so make sure the table light and the pendants work together I do agree the pots are in the wrong spat and I hope you have une cabinets lighting too.I do think the kitchen would have been better with more cabinets and no island but it is done now so enjoy .The lighting is like that string of pearls the right choice for a bit of class .

Are you updating the kitchen lighting as well? It looks like a fan and a flush-mount chandelier over the sink. If updating the dining room chandelier, also consider updating the other fixtures to match the new ascetic.
