I would like to add side panels one on each side. Would that look ok?Would you use I long rod or 2 short ones?

Looks like 4 inches for stackback space, not enough. How about Roman shades instead?

That has fairly traditional architecture, do one rod and drapes on both sides of the windows. Some sort of Roman shade hung below the transom for texture.

You have no room for a rod/rings and a "drop" between window casing and crown. I just had a similar for a rental....barely an inch

    Cobbled · More Info

    Super cheap...

Go to an Ace hardware. Or a target. Get the skinniest cheap white return rods. 16" - 28" GET TWO. You aren't showing a leading edge, both sides of the rod return to the wall

Measure..... Get plain cheap white sheers, and DOUBLE the panels....nice and full squish em on those rods.no rings at all.

Above was 108 length, 100 width 2 each side total four panels.

That's a nine foot ceiling in the photo.

You'll use any rod width, each side between 16 and 28" ....I'd use 16.

Add a rug under that table,,,,,: )

I hate fake drapery panels always I would do some nice roman shades there open in the daytime closed at night and maybe in a blue from the art .

There is no "just do this" in anything.

Rods with rings, imply what we call "drop" - the top of the panel should hide ALL of the upper window casing, and above that casing? Is the ring and the rod.

    Your Best way?

    Probably as this.....no rings

    With this.......

Because you do not seem to have room to successfully mount even a 3/4 inch diam rod.........and have 1 " RINGS: ).

THIS will avoid the rings.....and the drop, and seeing a window casing where you should not see it

Thank you. I have 1 3/4” space from the molding to the window frame.

Thank you for the advice. It does sound like anyone likes the idea of 1 panel on each end. You all suggest a pair of panels. It is a formal dining room so I don’t want just sheets. Also, my house is a modern coastal style. Another option. - would you keep the windows plain without anything?

Is privacy an big deal? I like just left with nothing but I aslo do not care if someone sees people eating at the table. Roman blinds can go modern I had linen ones in my last house very tailored .

Two panels, each 54" inches wide is a PAIR. Nobody suggested sheets, do you mean SHEERS?

Sheers are very coastal and light..They need fullness to look good, EVEN when you are "cheating" and doubling up a ready to go sheer.

If you aren't sure you want curtains? don't have them!

! and 3/4 inches above the casing, means you MAY get by with a 1" rod, and 1.5 inch ring. Or As I suggested above post.

Or do some roman shades: )

It needs no pattern, save that for a rug

you need more than one panel on each side or it will look like you might br a college student who ran out of money and couldnt afford more or was just too new to know how silly and skimpy single panels will look.

I think panels (or roman shades) and a rug will soften up the room and provide helpful texture

ONE PAIR, double WIDTH PANELS......LOOKS LIKE THIS:

108" of fabric on each side. anything else will look like skimpy strings
