over the door organizers for TALL doors??

last year

New house and doors are 8 ft tall—there are ones I could use an over the door organizer but they are going to be too tall to actually be useable…we found this out when I bought an ironing board hanger for door in laundry room—
Are their hangers made for taller doors so their main hooks are either adjustable for length or long enough to bring hooks/baskets down to useable spacing?

Perhaps a vertical configuration and choose a design that suits the specific needs.

Either one of those has space too tall because it starts near the top of the door. I found some wreath hangers on line at Target that are adjustable—so they can be lowered to more manageable location but they only offer one hook each—would have to find a basket or other horizontal type of hooks to hang from the hangers and that would look DIY tacky vs cool because I am not a very handy person—
The second option you posted looks like the supports need screwing into the door and my husband won’t go for that…
    But thanks…

There are a million ways to store any given thing.

Beware the over the door for doors that may not really need it. Even the best, will beat up the top of a door, and its paint.

You're barely into the new home, yes?

Ask where these are going.......back side of a bath door? That should have been accounted for in bath planning, in other ways. It's not an aging home, right? Back of a walk in closet door? For what? Shoes, scarves, belts ?

See what I mean? You need to be specific to area.....get totally IN the house: )

For sure we need to know what you want to store there that will drive the type of storage so share a bit more info but usually over the door kind of the last choice

Unless this is a rental, why not install organizers that attach to the door. If you have hollow-core doors, use anchors for mounting.

Jan, could be new to the OP?

When we moved, I called our new house "the new house", even though it was built in 1995.

The house is NEW construction, perhaps a recent move in

Ah, that's different. While I agree with you that a new house should have adequate storage, from what I've seen of spec houses in our area, that's definitely not the case. The kitchens are especially pitiful.

I see so when planning this was not planned . So now we need info as to what needs storage and where I still think over the door last choice usually

It was "new construction" but that doesn't mean the op planned the house. Could well be spec/tract.

That is true but with no answer we guess and like so many they just disappear with no info.

I dont need help with anything except what I asked for
    Hangers for tall doors
I asked for and paid xtra for 8 ft doors but had no control over ceiling heights
Those are set by the plans which give 9.5 first floor and 9 second foor plans

You could help yourself by informing us :

In what rooms . Bathroom, mud room utility closet , back of a pantry door. back of a bedroom door etc

Hooks, no hooks, shoe carriers, shallow baskets for grooming supplies etc

Another help? Remove the irritation obvious in your comment - there are NO mind readers here. Same irritation that was in a post regarding your floor receptacles.

If someone asks to see the floor plan? It only means they may see an opportunity for storage that you do not see. That is ALL it means.

Folks are not inclined to surf the internet ..........guessing and posting, (essentially something you can do) , when YOU know what you want and need in each space.
