I’m working on a quilt from the book Bella Bella Quilts. I’ve had it a long time and am finally making one! I’m trying to channel my inner Lois and do really accurate piecing, thinking of entering it in a quilt show next year.

Sue, that was quite a project! Hope the new granddog learns better communication soon!

We got a new kitten two weeks ago. He’s five months old. You forget from cat to cat what it’s like having a kitten! He’s very curious and into everything and we really have to keep an eye on him. Yesterday he broke a ceramic reindeer that was a gift from a coworker and broke my little succulent that was a gift from a different coworker. Today he climbed on top of my quilting machine and got from there onto a shelf on the wall! I moved the machine away from the wall, and he just did it again. The machine is now at the opposite end of the frame. (The point of putting the shelf on the wall was to hold things I want to keep the cats away from!)

He can be a terror, but look at that face! His name is Charlie.

Donna, Charlie is a cutie! Cats are pretty clever - be careful, he will soon be operating your quilting machine! This is Mavis and she is a busy girl.

Who is this Lois your're talking about? It can't be me. You should see what I just did. My husband has a sleeping bag he was issued by the Army in the early 60's. A sixty year old sleeping bag! It had a fur collar on it, which he spent hours removing because it tickled him. He wants to take it deer hunting next month, and he asked me if I could cover the rough edge where he removed the fur with something soft. The damn thing must weigh 25 pounds. I had some purple minky left over from the Viking quilts I made, so I did what he asked, but what a mess. I've never sewn anything so sloppy in my life. It's a disaster, but he's so happy. I just put it aside and then read this post about my accurate piecing. Did I ever have a good laugh!

I'm so glad you're back sewing, Theresa. That's such a good feeling. And, Sue, what a mess. I might have been tempted to toss the whole thing in the trash.

Mavis and Charlie are lovely pets, Ladies. I have had both dogs and cats in my life, but I'm really a cat person. I might get one someday when my traveling days are over, but right now I love the freedom of being petless. And my daughter has three cats, so when I need a kitty fix, I just visit her. The white one is Ziggy. His upper leg is around his brother Max, and his lower leg is around his adopted brother Rocket. A kitty pile.

Lois, how cute! The sleeping bag project sounds like a real pain! I’m glad you got it done and he is happy.
