Two years later- have a layout! Feedback welcome!

Hello Houzzers! A special thanks to @rebunky @buehl and many others for this. It’s off to permitting but can do some changes. I’ll have to figure out how to post the prior link - the last one had over 250 comments and that may be too much for folks to through.

In short, after flipping and flopping, learning how I live while taking care of my parents, likes, dislikes, getting rid of stuff, here is where I landed. Biggest changes since the last layout - we increased the size of the mudroom which is now going to serve more as a pantry, breakfast area. Changed from range to cooktop and wall oven, no upper cabinetry on range and sink wall (those open shelves around range will be taken out - bad idea).

I tried to think of sight lines - when I walk in what do want to see.

If you've incorporated input from Rebunky, Buehl, and others, I'd say you're off to a great start! So my only comment is that the door into the breakfast area looks like it doesn't have enough room to swing comfortably when people are seated there. Could you replace the swing door with a French slider? (Or maybe that door is coming from a garage? And are there sliders across the room from it?)

If it has to be a swing door (e.g. goes to a garage / fire rated etc.), then you might want to rethink the size, shape and placement of the table in that space.

@chicagoans Thank you. It does look tight. Will ask the architect about that. I’ll look up a French sliding door. I can only think of some security issue to keep a swing door since that’s where the driveway is?? Will look into it nevertheless. And I’ve been fortunate to have @buehl and @rebunky involved!

Hello! I have the kitchen designers layout. Just checking. My initial post has hundreds of comments - I started it two years ago and then - life. If anyone still around, is that’s where I should post it? Houzzers are going to read/skim those comments? Not here? Thanks!
