We are looking for an engineered hardwood that will hold up well with a black lab and a cat. Our lab is old and lazy and doesn’t run around anymore. Our kids are grown and out of the house. Under these circumstances, is wear layer really that important? I doubt we would want to refinish as long as we’re still in the house. Does anyone have an opinion about whether a 1.2 or 1.5mm wear layer would be okay for us? Does anyone have a brand that they’d recommend that has a thicker wear layer, but is affordable? Thanks!
