Toilet Making Sound From The Tank?

So the toilet has been making this sound and at first I thought it was coming from the toilet, but it appears to be from the toilet tank when you open the toilet tank lid up?

I don't think it's a hissing sound but another type of sound. Does anyone know what I can do about it? Would I need to post a photo of it to get a better idea?

Probably the flapper not making contact. Either wore out, off the pivot posts or just off kilter a bit. How old is the toilet? Pictures may help.

If you take a picture of the sound just be sure nothing else making noise.

Most likely is a slow leak at the flapper allowing a little water flow periodically as the float valve triggers. If you shut of the water supply does the noise stop and does the water level in the tank drop over time?
