We are finishing up our galley kitchen renovation using an engineered stone product for the backsplashes and countertops. The engineered stone has a vein pattern on it, and we have a choice to make about how to orient the veins as we cut and install the stone.

Would appreciate people's feedback on 1 of the following 2 choices:

1) "Mirror Image Orientation" where the veins on both sides sort of fall away in the same direction.

2) "Vein Running in the Same Direction" where the veins would fall in opposite directions on either side.

I'm attaching photos of these two options here. I also have photos of the kitchen. (Unfortunately, I don't have one photo with both sides showing.)

And just to be clear, as this is an engineered stone product, they can use two pieces of stone slabs that are exact mirror images of each other for 1) above. For 2) above, they'd just use two identical stone slabs.

Also, I should add that even in the "Mirror Image Orientation," right now, it's not a true mirror image in where the veins sit. For example, the vein pattern in the right backsplash is close to the balcony end. But in the left backsplash, that vein pattern is close to the entry end.
