Help me add some curb appeal….

Wondering what you would do to this property to add curb appeal? It’s one of those bungalows where the front door is angled, so you don’t see it. The inside is great…just not sure I can get past the outside…

Lovely house! The only thing that bothers me is the big polka dot in the gable; my eye goes right there. Maybe substitute a rectangular vent with an octagonal top (this one is from Lowe's), painted the siding color so it blends in? Then just give guests a pleasurable walk to the entrance and it's good. (I did widen the walk, add potted flowers, and add garage door windows as suggested above.)

Your taupe paint is actually very nice.

Try painting the white porch post the garage door color. Is it lathed? Colonial? I would clad it if it is.

Paint the porch ceiling a soft blue. A nice look that is trending.

The house numbers could mount vertically on the right side garage pillar.

Thanks for the like. Your garage door looks nice but it is in the shade in the photo. Does the color look washed out in the sun? You don't want pastel.

I'd get a garage door with windows and put something in the middle of that round thing in the gable. Maybe a big house number. It's worth noting that this pic is from a very unflattering angle. You'll see more of the house if you move to the right to take the pic.

Such a pretty house! I would think about large-ish clean-lined planters on either side of the garage with taller grasses in them

The best way to add curb appeal is with landscaping, especially for homes such as yours.

Other ideas: painting garage door white, adding a pergola, lights and planters.

Paint the garage door to match the brick work. It's not a feature and shouldn't be emphasized. A pot of flowers on the right side of the porch will draw the eye toward the door area.

A nicer garage door and replace the driveway asphalt with pavers. Other than that, it looks pretty good to me.

Terrib962 what mean comments there are always ways to improve curb appeal if you have a little creativity and a bit of kindness.

I like the suggestions to replace or adapt the big round dot on the garage gable. I would try to paint the garage door to a color closer to the brick color. I think a wider sidewalk leading feom the street to the front door with perhaps a curve in the sidewalk.

The biggest problem is that the garage door is the main (only noticeable) feature of the house; it is the main focal point and overpowers all else. I would not do anything (like adding windows or white paint) to the door that attracts even more attention.

I think the house would look better by painting the garage door a color that blends with the brick.

Maybe consider painting a hex sign on the gable circle. These are Good omen signs, not witchy or bad in any way, but quite the opposite. Knowing the meaning of symbols used, one could make a uniquely personal and attractive focal point (taking eyes away from the huge door).

Nice house! Windows for the garage door would be nice to help break up the ”wall” of garage as simplynatural’s example shows. Love Doug’s landscaping.

I would like to see windows for the garage door, lights on either side of the garage door, vertical address numbers below the light closest to the front door. I agree that the gable circle needs something and there are good ideas above. You might consider a planting bed along the side of the driveway and large planters on either side of the garage door if there's room. The idea is to soften up the street view.

The round thing in gable over garage is probably slatted to vent the attic space. I dont think anything should blick the slats. But painting it color if garage door should help the curb appeal. And all the landscaping ideas to add yrae round color and curves along the straight-edge driveway.

I think changing your garage door to something like the picture posted above would update and upgrade your curb appeal substantially!!!

To me the biggest change and the most welcoming in the pictures posted is providing a path to the front door that is at the edge of the driveway and wider by the garage to clearly show the path to the front door and then adding the planters to the garage sides. To me this takes the focus away from the garage and allows your eyes to follow somewhere else. Prettying up the garage too much pulls the focus back to the garage and that is not where I'd want the focus. Painting out the vent is a good idea too.
