HELP! Bathroom Tile Layout 24x28 tile

I'm installing large tiles in my tub shower, and need to determine the layout. The long wall doesn’t fit two of the big tiles perfectly (for a stacked look). It’d either need to be placed staggered like brick, where you have one full piece then a small cut piece next to it, and then interchange which side the big full piece starts, like one of the photos attached. like this. Or to get a stacked look, I'd have to cut the 48 inch long tile by 18 inches both tiles on the long wall to have them meet in the middle (like the other photo attached). I can also do vertical stacked, where I'd have a full piece in the middle of the long wall and smaller pieces next to it, but then on the short walls of mine, I'd have a pretty small piece. IDK what to do, if someone can help me I'd love it!

Just to be cliear...the tile they are holding up in your actual shower does not look like 24x28 as stated in your title. It does not look 48" long either as you also mentioned. Am I missing something? Typos?

On another note, don't forget about the grain in the pattern, lay out the tiles on the floor first to get the veining flowing nicely.

I prefer stacked with a marble-look tile, so I would cut the 2 tiles to fit symmetrically on the narrow wall.

Do you have to keep them 48"? You could cut all the tiles to 24x24 and then just lay them out normally.

Be careful cutting down all your tiles ... if you don't have the right tile guy and/or equipment you could end up with a chippy cut side on every single tile.

True, better to have all tile cuts in a corner. Cutting them to 24x24 would NOT work. My bad.

You said you would have very small pieces of tiles if you stacked centered on the big wall. That eliminates that. So otherwise, what sized pieces you are looking at for the side? The back wall looks to be 6" which seems doable

You do a stacked bond, and then wrap the corners with the cuts. That tile is really too big and too difficult for any installer who would think of using Redguard. That's low end trash material, and same for the installer. Not enough skills on board to handle large format.

We do large format for tub walls all the time. For a 60" tub, we cut the tiles so there is a center vertical grout line and straight stack the tile. Very easy, no troubles.
