Looking for something to replace these

I have two arborvitae trees on the corners of my house. I really dislike them. They were planted in 1990 as very small bushes. I knew nothing about taking care of the trees (trimming). Anyway, I plan to remove these next spring. I want to plant a conifer/shrub/thin tree on the right side that would eventually cover the gas meter. I don’t plant to replace the tree on the left. what suggestions would you have?
I’m becoming more and more interested in adding conifers to my yard.
