Accent wall or All Walls or color Drench?

last modified: 7 months ago

This was my inspiration https://hanashappyhome.com/diy/paint-colors/using-benjamin-moores-color-of-the-year-2024-in-my-guest-bedroom-makeover/
for an accent wall, but I love the color and now wondering if I not only should do all walls but make it immersed with trim too?

I will do the same to my walk in closet, and then a different color/shade to my connecting master bath.

My home was bought from a flipper 4 years ago so i'm working on getting rid of contractor grays!

BEFORE

- Bed frame, nightstands, bench will stay - bedding, lights, etc will change to match - plus adding curtains and other accent furniture

Here is your photo for reference:

In Hana's inspo room the remaining walls are white, not gray. I would mimic their look and paint the other walls white.

Use their color scheme. You have a pinkish beige carpet, and I see they used that color in their bedding -a pinkish brown..not the strong pink in your pillows. That along with cream, ivory and gray.

The only color they don't use is gold, so use a rich ivory to tie in your goldish bench. Or consider using the bench in another room.

Did semi satin for trim and flat for ceiling. I'm liking it.

Paint all four walls after all now that I see you're doing the ceiling. I see where you're going.

Love it! I bet it feels really cozy. Can you paint the trim on your can lights? We did a color drench in both our kids' rooms and I bought paintable switch plates too. If there is a solution for the switches I'd love to know.

I thought about that. I have to redo ceiling touch ups because i used the wrong sheen! Need a painting break. I'm looking at decor now for bedding, lamps, shelves/bookshelf

    Very nice. Stunning.

Your blue seems more of a purple blue than an aqua blue.

Your last inspo pic has an aqua bedspread. The second pic that I posted has a teal sofa. So there are lots of possibilities with blues if you wish.

I like it, but I think you need at least one more coat all over. you can clearly see where you cut in and rolled.

yes - i was pouring from the wall sheen can when i was fixing the ceiling instead of flat can....this is why i hire painters lol

    making progress...bedding/lamps ordered.....

need to paint the walk in closet before new carpet gets installed. Not sure I want the same dark blue....can do a lighter shade or another color?.......the connecting master bathroom will be a shade of green.

Are you planning on painting the entire walk in, including the built-in’s and if so, consider the practicality of going dark. Next item to consider is the green bathroom and how to connect the three spaces. Based on the bedroom‘s design and bathroom’s style, I’d add wallpaper (with a small repeat!) to connect rooms/white built-ins/new carpeting), add a cute semi-flush light and update window treatment.

I debated on painting the closet itself as its fairly new. I plan to only do the walls.

Your carpet sample looks very golden so be aware it will add a lot of yellow into the room esp next to the blue walls. It does not look neutral on my screen.

The decor by Maureen includes that gold color.
