Look at something in the green realm, but make sure it coordinates with the countertop (nothing blue-green). Green would look good with the rustic knotty cabinets you've got.

The other element that really sticks out to me is that backsplash. Not only does the tone clash with the counter, the vibe doesn't jive with the cabinets. In other words -- replace the backsplash.
