Afraid to paint anything but am I alone ???

Hello,
Sorry for the night time picture.
I need help from myself, I am about to do it again and paint the almost finished home office white. For the past 10 years all I used is white (and I wanted to believe I was ready to try but now guess what, I am hesitating finding all the reasons in the world to make the"safe"choice. Granted its a big room (office to be) 20 x 40 with 4 small windows, slated ceiling, the floor is new, maple (its quite pale with pink/purple undertone). The ceiling is 8 ft. During day time its surprisingly clear and bright. The desks are modern 2× (6ft x 2 ft) black with purple brown undertone,. My big questions what 1 color do you recommend. I should add that there also will be a drum / guitars added at some point (night/weekend). And if you can indulge a last question what type of guardrail (stair) would you suggest. Thank you so so much.

Look at your photo. I mean look at the overall tone and feel of the color of light in the walls and floor. Gorgeous. A soft warm peachy glow that is so inviting. Why not go for that? I found a color that looks just like it.

Dutch Tulip by Magnolia Home is off-white in bright light according to reviews, but in this room it will really give that pink glow. Color drench all walls, ceilings, trim, door. Get a sample to make sure it matches your floors. That's the idea.

LRV is 71 which is a light color. It has gray in it so not saturated.

Install three or four white faux beams on the ceiling (can't tell how far apart the lights are). Paint any trim white...go with Chantilly Lace which is B.M.'s truest white.

My pleasure. Wait, I just saw you're installing slatted wood ceiling. I did not realize I was recommending to paint them. Wood slats will be nice unpainted, too.

DT is described as warm peach but it could lean too pink with the light coming off the wood.

For the rails maybe black iron?

Oui slanted is angled but you wrote slated and I thought you meant slatted. Not wrong word, just a typo lol. No worries!

The room looks small in the photo, but it is a very long room. You might consider painting one of the end walls an accent color-- to bring the wall closer visually, if need be. You don't show the other side of the room so I can't tell for sure.

With your low slanted ceiling, I would not hang boards from the ceiling because I would bump my head.

This is a loft with no door? Just stairs in the floor? Keep an emergency escape ladder in there to use in a window.
