I would upholster the headboard instead of painting it to add texture and warmth to the space. its pretty easy to diy and doesnt even have to be permanent.

Next, i would put a nice large piece of art over the bed, add a throw in a color at the foot and hang a mirror over the dresser. I don’t think the dresser location is awful by the way. i would not sweat it.

Completely agree on curtains! They will add a lot of character. I also like the idea of refinishing the night stands. maybe consider some wall mounted bedside lamps instead of table lamps.

Use a mirror that hangs from a rope or other strap material (there are lots of versions/styles available) centered over the dresser...mount a bracket to the wood pocket door frame that is hidden in the wall, high enough to clear the door when it slides into the frame. Measure from the height of the wood frame to determine the size of mirror so that it is appropriate distance from the dresser top and of viewer height.

Is that the bedding you are going with ? IMO a more interesting bedding no little odd pillows and then choose a wall color that works with the bediing. I find a small desk much more useful than a dresser in a guest room I have a closet organizer type storage in my closet where guests ba use a coupl eof shaleves and hanging space and a space underneath for luggage it works perfectly . My guest all have laptops and a desk and chair has always been used . The night table and lamps are way too small and the lamps need to be a size that the light can be used for reading . Another lamp on the desk. I do not think painted furniture is a nice look for a gueat room but the idea of an upholseter head board is nice but the faric needs to be someting washable sind heads tend to make headbords dirty. Drapes always a nice look in a bedroom . No storage of your stuff in there at all. Art easily hung over the bed with good Command hooks .same for the small mirror which acan go over the desk.. Remember a guest room can be very different than the rest of your home and needs to look comfy so the best mattress , bedding an decor you can afford I always think 5 * hotel for my guests . We have a coffee maker we added to ur guest room and it is a huge hit .

I love October Mist, but I'm not sure it's going to be the right green to go with the carpeting. Sample it to see, but you might want to look for a green with more yellow. The trim color is perfect.

My preference for my home is to use color on the bedroom and bathroom walls and keep the neutrals limited to the main living area and hallways.

I love Evergreen Fog, it is a beautiful color, but I took a peek at your idea books and see more blues and blue greens, and lighter colors. I also see that you picked blues for your accent in this room.

Blue and greens work beautifully together, but Evergreen Fog may be too dark for the lighter, beachier blues that you seem drawn to.

Would you mind sharing the paint colors and accent colors that you have chosen in the other parts of your home? Help us help you find a color that creates harmony as you walk from room to room in your home.

Suggest replacing tables (too low/small) with one large white nightstand on right and a drawer might be handy. Choose a lamp with the right proportions (lots of on line articles if needing help) and headboard painted a white with same undertone/paint finish as nightstand.

Move bed as far left as possible to see if dresser would work under window and add a blind for simplicity and ease of use.

If above works you could add a chair in the corner for guests’ convenience. With the paint color you chose, bedding will need to be updated and guests will appreciate no cushions but add four sleeping pillows.

The dresser looks like it is jammed into its present location. Would be much better if there was a bit of space on each side to provide some relief. So, will suggest you replace with a narrower dresser. The furnishing don't have to match exactly but they should compliment each other.

I'd paint the room, trim, doors the same color as the dresser, then paint the headboard and tables to match. It will make the room look fresh, bigger, brighter.

Find bedding in the color you love and were thinking of for the walls. Visually, the bedding takes up almost as much space as the wall color.

Yes to a mirror above the dresser. Anchor a strong hook in the wall above where the pocket door would hit. Then hang a mirror down with chain, rope, leather - like you would from a picture rail. A mirror is really going to open up this space.

Just one thought: are you expecting regular guests, or just preparing for the possibility? If the former, then practical suggestions like the desk seem good; if the latter, then the dresser might store your extra bedding or off-season clothes or whatever...
