Note that you might not be able to see the fire from bed.... It will be too low and you won't see down over your toes.

When you think FP do you really think you will use it ? We had one in one of our master bedrooms and not one time did we turn it on. I think a nice cabinet below the FP for a bit of storage is far more useful but please think before doing this . BTW I hate TV in the bedroom but that is me.

As others have asked - do you think you will really use the fireplace. Many people don't once they have them installed. If you won't use it more than several times a year I would say it wouldn't be worth it.

Yes it IS you, and not all other people. Many of us enjoy it for news, for a movie to relax before sleeping, and use the timer to turn it off. !!

When you're sick with the flu in bed? It's lovely to have tv.

Is under the TV the best place for the bedroom fireplace? Assuming you'll use one, I'd be inclined to have one near a cozy seat to curl up and read a book. Or if you want to see it from bed, it seems like you might want it a little higher as Jan mentioned. Consider posting a layout and maybe you can get some suggestions on optimal placement.

I did have a wood burning fireplace in the master bedroom at my old house. I think we tried using it once and didn't enjoy it. Electric might be nicer. We do have a gas fireplace in our current living room, but even that we only use on rare occasion. They do add some visual coziness though.

Really Jan there are so many articles about the TV in bedrooms and how it disturbs sleep maybe read those I have an opinion just like you do I am not critical of yours .

A Lot of things disturb sleep. Pain, worry and anxiety. Not enough exercise, over eating.

That said? Many folks find a bit of distraction from a tv quite helpful in changing focus, or just ENJOY it for a bit of down time before they turn off the lights. It's no different than someone who enjoys a murder mystery novel before lights out.

What is bothersome? Is to attach to every post your disdain for any particular surface, item, from shutters to sectionals, to tv's to whatever! There are many things I'd not choose for myself, but would for a client if it was their leaning., as LONG as it worked. I may indeed point out the pro /con of a decision as there is usually that in ANY decorative or functional selection.
