Living room layout suggestions

I just moved into a house that has an interesting living room/kitchen set up and I'm not sure how I want to configure this space. Some ideas I have are getting a bistro table to put in between the kitchen and living room (between sliding door and window). There is a cylinder gas fire place that's in a kind of awkward spot (marked by the circle) and was thinking of getting two matching chairs to put in front of it. We have a L shaped blue Joybird modular sectional that we definitely want to have in the space (not sure where the best place for it would be? Maybe facing the sliding glass door?), but we're open to all other furniture layout suggestions!

If you had rug suggestions for our couch (I love mid century modern design) that would also be great!

@simplynatural Not really since the previous post was about where to put a tv and dining room table (I'm also not able to see my previous post for the suggestions)

First, put actual dimensions to every wall and window, doorway

Clarify what you are wanting. This is a free help site, you've been given suggestions. You want..............what? You do or do not want a tv in the space, You do or do not want a place to dine.

You aren't going to have room for more than a 42 " diameter dining table.

It you want more exacting info? Put feet and inches to EVERY wall and window.

Don't start new threads with every question. You need to do your own rug shopping - waiting for three hundred suggestions fro a thousand people is a waste of time. Not less than an 8 x 10 and probably 9 x 12 is better. More exact? Do the feet and inches walls and windows.

I would add? Use an ipad with Safari.........you will miss a lot on the app and the phone. Better? A laptop.

For me no sectional this is the reason I hate them they are so site specific I have no idea what Houzz has now "FIXED" that you get a weird message when trying to find old posts . Yes we need all the measurements and if that sectional has to stay those measurements . And DO NOT START anoter post all things related to this space dealt with here in comments and jpeg format for pics and drawings
