interior door hardware: brushed nickel v black

Can I choose brushed nickel door hardware through a house that will have wrought iron balusters and black chandelier in entry way? Pics attached show traditional cabinetry with newly refinished countertops and floors that I’m hoping I can otherwise move towards transitional. We have NOT painted yet (bonus, I’d love paint recs! Kind of thinking I need a green accent wall or moody living or dining room.) but I need to pick door hardware now. The doors themselves will remain 1980s 6 panel. My go-to is black levers but I’m thinking brushed nickel. Powder room and master bathroomt will be brushed nickel. Kids bathroom black hardware. Kitchen hardware stainless steel. TBD kitchen cabinet pulls (they’re currently brushed nickel, was kind of thinking black to mix it up.) I’m working with beautiful chestnut kitchen cabinets and a couple other permanent choices that aren’t to my taste. Trying to blend it all but at a loss. Fun! Thanks for your help!

Waht the heck is going on in that kitchen lighting ??? As for hardware I see no black and for sure not black on those cabinets .IMO brushed nikel is a great choice with all the wood and can work well with a bit of black too.

Definitely brushed nickel. There isnt any black in your house, so adding black hardware, will look out of place.

SW Reserved White for the kitchen, nice with your cabinets and freshen the space. A green undertone in all lighting. Find a deeper green for the dining and living if that's what you want.

Brushed nickel, not black. The bathrooms whould be polished chrome for sparkle and shine, especially in the kids bath.

The recessed lights are hanging by their wires and not yet pushed up into the ceiling.

    No black. Brushed nickel throughout.

I would do neither. A WARM TONED brass would be beautiful on the cabinetry and on door hardware. Not gold...not 1980 brass: )

Even a polished nickel would be better ........

You can't change enough in there to make it into a different house. The doors are 6 panel, the cabinetry is traditional. If you want a huge difference? You paint the wood trim: )

It's not becoming a modern farm house.

Brushed nickel would be my choice. I have black balusters and brushed nickel on my entryway door too. Congradulations on your lovely new kitchen!!

I would also go the brass or honey bronze route. Check out Top Knobs, which has a variety of styles in the latter (which is not really bronze-y at all).

My continued thanks! I’m currently down the brushed brass rabbit hole and feeling like this might be what I need to land in one correct direction. (Crash course in warm vs cool, to say the least.) We are painting the trim. I’m eyeing Reserved white as a color throughout (or Alabaster). I think I can blend my comfort zone of black/wrought iron more comfortably in other parts of the house if I warm things up. :-) I’ll eye a polished nickel as I consider the gold. I’ve been staring at the current stainless pulls on the cabinets thinking something was wrong but not understanding why. Crash of warm and cool. Thank you all for my continued crash course!
