I’d first decide where bench will be located, then create a fuller garden so that whole area feels more inviting. Then calculate the amount of flagstone required (you can always add more, instead of buying too much) and suggest placing the bench near the house. It will look better visually vs sitting in the middle, leave a lot of space between the stones and just keep testing until it feels natural.

The bench is fine but why would anyone sit there? That’s where shrubs go.

I would put the bench under the window and have flagstone path leading to it. Add plantings on each side in decorative containers.

I have a teak bench, very similar in style , adjacent to my front door ( house style Spanish Regency, perhaps Colonial ) It’s handy for slipping on shoes, setting down packages, etc., while opening the front door.. I placed a fountain in a courtyard similar to yours, surrounded by plants & a small tree. A fountain is nice but need to know if electrical source is accessible.

I would place large stepping flagstones, enough so that you can walk up to the bench without stepping in the soil.

Wide enough for two people to walk up o the bench. And get up to walk away.

I see no purpose for a bench there . IMO best design is whan function comes first and no one will ever sit there IMO . So some great alndscape ideas with different heiht planters maybe could be agood choice and make a statement for your entry
