Nucedar Siding Issues?

Building a beach house in OBX and our builder has shared some concerns about the Nucedar siding we picked. Has anyone had any issues with color matching or the product holding up?

Our experience is that NuCedar is terrible. Maybe if your builder follows the (extremely specific) installation instructions it would work out. The product can't even be powerwashed without potentially voiding the warranty. If it's not too late, make sure any joints are scarf joints as well. And if they lean on it to hard it'll take the finish off. Woodpeckers also seem to love it.

So all in all, I'm not bitter to have spent cedar prices on something that is a disaster after 6 months (a lot of that is the builder's fault, but it isn't a forgiving material as far as I can tell).
