We are building a home! I want the white and gold appliances. Considering GE cafe series and zline appliances. There are mixed reviews on both. Any personal experiences. Please be kind. Thanks

The recommendation is to buy the best performing appliance without trying to use only one manufacturer. But if color is more important than quality, I would buy the longest extended warranties available. And hope your color choice remains available. Whirlpool has made appliances consumables with the one-year warranty.

I have a ZLine 36 inch all gas range with their 1200 cfm range hood. I am extremely happy with both. I've had no problems with either. It seems all the complaints were with the dual fuel ranges.

Bluestar also makes colored appliances in a huge number of colors.

Except for dishwashers, GE Appliance's Cafe brand appliances generally do well in CR's tests though you'll pay a premium over often-similar GE and Profile appliances. You might check CR ($10/month digital) for specific models and follow up with owners' reviews on Home Depot, Best Buy, etc. AJ Madison sells Cafe packages.

Zline is horrible. Just read the thousands of reviews on here about them. No service, and no customer service.

Viking also does custom colors for cooking and refrigeration. But, as others have said, buy the best brand for each activity, not a matching set.

The benefit of Viking and bluestar is because they have custom colors you run less risk of a replacement match being unavailable in the future with changes in product line (though the up front cost is admittedly higher)

Never do Zline. Yes to Bluestar. They are the same Garland range that Julia Child used, just insulated for the home.
