I think you need to go shopping for art since I never suggest art to my clients I have no issue with many canvas pieces but you need to lower the one a bit that I can see. IMO you have a very blank space with not much going on that gives it personality so it IMO is impossible to know what you like. I went to your idea books and honestly just boring is what you like . You needd color it does not have to be bright but even a trip online to Art.com to see how you can brak out of boring . There is nothing wrong with liking pale colors but IMO you still need color I see none. Is there any color in the art you have only see one pice not color I can tell in it. Sometimes I suggest you go in your closet and see what colors you like to wear to give us a hint .

Art is a personal choice. Go to antique stores, local art shows, interesting shops while traveling, etc if you are looking for unique items to hang.

I found this at a middle eastern shop in LA that sold all types of decor. A brass Moroccan door knocker that I mounted as part of a gallery wall. It is around 13" tall. On another small wall I have 3 old Chinese tassels hanging. Think outside the box!

You have a calm, minimal, monochrome look. Nothing wrong with that and no need to go wild injecting color. Beecause the kitchen area is open to the great room, it would be very helpful if you posted pictures of the great room too. Then we could make better suggestions.

I don't think you need anything on the slender wall by the table. But, if you really want something there, go for two circular pieces hung one above the other - could be ceramic, metal, woven plates.

For the wall across from the end run of cabinets, you need to feature some art that you absolutely love. It may take 6 months to find and that is fine. The big piece of art by your door looks very generic - like something you'd find in an aisle of a big box store and hang for staging a home for sale. It still looks pretty and there is nothing wrong with keeping it. But you have to balance it out by having another piece on the other wall that you absolutely love, makes your heart sing, and injects some of your own personality into the space. Only you will know what that is.

I love your neutral, calm kitchen, Canvas art is a great option. you don't need to worry about reflection from light. a good place to start,

My philosophy on art is that you find a place for a piece you love. There is nothing wrong with a blank wall. Be patient, and if you find a piece that you can't stop thinking about, buy it.

There is not one thing on the walls in our home that is not either original, meaningful, or something that I love to look at (I love to look at the original and meaningful pieces too!)

Get some pieces with color to offset the neutral on neutral furniture and finishes.

My Mom gave this piece to us as an anniversary gift. It came from a local gallery in Minnesota.

Is that the front door or the back door as far as it gets used? might be helpful to think about the funtion of that space and how it could add some much needed texture to this whole area. Also maybe show us a more complete room so we can get a sense of your taste, currently we dont really have anything to go off of. Also have you thought about adding some curtain panels to the windows, bring some softness?

All of the art you have is hung to high the center of those pieces should be at eye level it makes a huge difference in how you view the pieces. I do agree only buy things you love life is too short to buy stuff just to fill a space . It takes a long time to get the home you love but so worth it to walk in and say I love my home.

the family room looks wonderful, which mean you can do this too. A mirror might actually work at the Door area, it could reflect the windows across from it, just a thought.
