That's really pretty! Do you have access to your table now? I would use painter's tape and map out that size on the table top and see if it overwhelms it. If it looks reasonable, I'd do it! Since it's open and airy, I tend to agree with Joseph that it won't be too big.

It depends mostly on the table.
Though In a room that size , chandelier does sound appropriate

Thank you! this is the table and chairs if that makes a difference. there are a lot of windows in the room but the ceiling is only 8 ft.

i wont have the table until march/april but i would like to get everything put in while the crew is here if possible.

It makes a huge difference, to me the chandelier you like seems a bit to formal for the feeling of the table. And that is why I will always try to stick with, get the table in the room first. plus putting the chandelier over the table needs to be a certain height, and sometimes that is an eyeball away from the 'right' feel.

In case it helps, here's a rough mockup trying to size it out on graph paper. (I did this before ordering lights because it helps me to visualize.) I do think it will help to have your table in place (or at least be able to do a mockup of its size) and I also think the light will work. (Cool light btw!) In general, people leave 30-36" between the top of the table and the bottom of the fixture. Since your fixture has some openness at the bottom, perhaps you could go a bit lower, depending on your height and preference.

With an 8' ceiling, you'd have 96"-30" table height - 30" space over table - 16" fixture height = 20" of space above your fixture.

Looks good to me. It is large, but not too large in my eyes.
