Shower curb width

I have a custom 46" neo angle shower pan from KBRS. After framing I can fit a slightly larger shower. For neo angle showers I think every inch counts. I can easily make the curb 6" instead of 4" to gain an extra inch of space when the glass is installed in the center of the curb. Question is if a 6" curb looks too wide or other reasons not to do that wide of a curb?

I see no reason to increase the size of the curb and waht with a custom shower not ordered in the proper size for after framing

A bigger curb does not get you a bigger shower. That’s just a silly idea.

Doesn't look like KBRS offers a wider curb. Look at Tile Redicustom shower pans. You order a custom pan that that will fully fit the space--and specify a 2" or 3" wide curb. Which will yield you real extra space. Both from incorporating the room being wasted by a proposed 6" wide curb and by decreasing the width of the curb.

Tile Redi pans are way better than the foam puzzle piece shower systems.

Tile Redi is trash. Just ask any real tile professionals. Nothing but problems with them.

I would go with smaller curb so the glass stands out nicely. There's no function benefit by having a bigger curb and I imagine the curb will have a solid surface top on it.
