Bring in your blue in a big area rug. Paint the dining chairs the same shade of blue. Blue throw pillows.

I can't see the coffee table but a big ottoman would be nice.

Thank you actually probably going to buy a new table and chairs so I’ll keep the color of chairs in mind! Great suggestions … the sides of the fireplace are pretty bare… but not sure adding more furniture would help. It’s so narrow in there

Corners and walls don't need to be filled but you could put a plant in the left corner and a floor lamp in the right corner behind the easy chair.

The blue paint was for your current chairs. The new ones might look dumb painted blue.

I think there are a lot of plusses in this room! It's light and bright, beautiful floors, beautiful view, love the fireplace.

Am I reading this right, the sofas stay? They are a bit dark, but the whole room is light, so some contrast is not a bad thing. The lighter pillows and throws help. I do think you can do a lot with a different artwork. Choose something that has lighter and softer colors, maybe a coastal scene if that is applicable. But I don't think you have to go dark navy or anything to bring in some soft blues, I'll post an idea below.

For the rug, I would keep it lighter as well. You already have dark furniture and all the finishes in the room are light, so you don't want to go crazy on dark tones or saturated vivid colors or you'll loose that lovely softness. Something lighter than the floor would be great so you have some separation, maybe light blues, white/cream or something simple with just texture like the one pictured below.

Also, you may already have a rug there; I couldn't really tell from the photos what it looked like.

Wonderful comments I have a whitish rug but I’m wondering it needs to be a little bigger … the painting you sent is lovely I think I need a 60x40 - someone suggested a mirror to reflect the water but it felt a little hard to me! I don’t know!

The painting I suggested is huge; but I love the colors/style for this room so maybe it's a good jumping off point for ideas. What size table do you currently have in the breakfast nook area?

You are 3/4 of the way to a great room with a fantastic view, but there is a bit of an identity crisis going on. The sofas, end tables, and winged arm chair have a subtle masculine vibe. But the slip covered chair and side table feel like Rachel Ashwell made a Shabby Chic comeback in one little corner of the space. I'd replace that chair and round table and round table with something that is a better compliment to the wing chair.

Then, I'd swap out your throw and pillows for ones that are a bit more handsome, beige, bits of black in them, and textured. Check out the square side table, your floor basket, and the wing chair - those tan colors all look great with the sofa and your floor color. Focus on more of that for your pillows and throw.

You've done great so far. You're just not finished.

The room requires some art, a tree in the corner, a floor lamp for the chair and ottoman

I can't tell the color of the sofas, but IMO the art above the sofa needs to be more dynamic & larger in size.

Is the an area rug in the space?
