Edwards makes a great Key Lime Pie. Found in the freezer section of the grocery. So sure, freeze it.

Per “Southern Livings” website, you can freeze key lime pie for up to 60 days.

What a SWEET DS! Yes, you can freeze it. If possible, I’d do it without any whipped cream topping (depending what’s in it) since it might compromise texture. Just wrap well and defrost in the fridge.

FWIW, sometimes what‘s frozen at the market has been flash-frozen with temps different than our home freezers. The quicker freezing can mean better texture and quality than our home freezers produce.

Yep. Ina has a frozen key lime pie. You can freeze any key lime pie. It's not a real custard that would split. Just condensed milk.

Thank you each for the encouraging advice!! This pie is very special, being a gift from DS, of course, and also because it is made by a young mother (who is the daughter of the folks who own the orchard) to earn extra money over the holidays for her own family. Love supporting local enterprises!

Aside from mine from a friend’s secret recipe, Publix grocery stores carry the best Key lime pie-and they are in the bakery department freezer.

Joe's Stone Crab (who invented it) suggests putting it in the freezer for a bit before eating it. So I guess that's a "Go".
