We need to see the whole space . The shiplap ship sailed long ago and for sure not with that FP. What do you have that cries out to be displayed on shelves ? A space with no cntext is useless to see. I do not usually think a FP and TV wall need any more decor maybe paint the wall but I need context. Please do not raise that TV which is barely watchable as it is.

I, personally would find a different wall for the TV. Please include pix of the whole room... what else do you need to do?

Here’s somewhat of a visual of your idea, in a streamlined, modern look with built in’s (with simple accessorizes). Save effort and $$ by just painting the middle black, as most of that area will be hidden by the tv. Consider a mantle and tv raised a bit on the wall.
