Post pics of the materials please . The cabinet color is only one part , what are the floors all the stuff drives backsplash choice . Since you say will be I ssume this is new kitchen so IMO backsplash and wall color are last things to choose and done when all the rest is in place , so post pics then . I would be curious as to that choice for cabinet color too

What Patricia said. Flooring and also the scale of the room will dictate the colors and shapes of your backsplash.

Sorry but that counter no way with that color cabinet IMO too white and too gray. Your floors are a warm wood they need a warm counter I would actually look a some granites with the cabinet tones in it not what you are showing. Something like this IMO Then maybe a nice large format glass tile in a color from the granite with matching grout or backpainted glass . All those warm tomes need to stay in thta warmth trendy plastic counter in grays and white no way.

This is going to be beautifu! I would wait until your counter tops are installed, then start bringing home samples you can see in your own space in your own light.

Very pretty colors. I'd run a 5" splash of the quartz on your wall and leave the rest of it painted without tile. I go by Coco Channel's theory that most outtits look better when you take off one accessory. The same is for kitchen finishes. I find a kitchen most often sings when you leave out backsplash tile. Your floors are beautiful, your cabinet color is very subtle, and the counters look pretty. Why throw tile into a harmonious mix?

Red if that was the counter i would agree but it is not . Also the quartx should not go behind a cooking applaince so IMO one more reason to not do fake stone .

Quartz can be used as a backsplash behind a stove IF stove is installed properly. I read this in an article on houzz a few years ago

Yeah, but a properly installed stove with a quartz backsplash is 6" away from that wall with the splash on it. That's custom depth cabinets for both bases and uppers. A whole lot of extra expense and bother, with more difficulty of access.

It’s always a good idea to finish everything in the kitchen before deciding on a backsplash (if you’re not using the counter material). Once your cabinets, hardware, lighting and countertop are installed, you’re in a better position to assess the backsplash options. There are so many!

In my previous house, I waited a year before doing the backsplash. Not rushing this decision might make it easier to decide at a later date.

Agree with using the counter material (fwiw we did this w/quartzite 14 yrs ago when we reno’d and it has helped the kitchen date less quickly I think) -

I could see a patina’d brass panel behind the range if you didn’t want to use quartz

As others mention, I would wait on any backsplash decision until after cabinetry and selected counter is installed. I would also consider having just a 4-5" backsplash using same as countertop. Before deciding any of this it's important to have all your lighting operable, including under cabinet if any, to make final selections.

Patricia, do you know the name of that granite you posted above? I like that, and it would go with my floor and existing cabinets should I decide not to paint them, considering painting SW Alabaster or something similar but not sure yet, this would go either way).

I actually just googled white and beige granites to show you wha might work I just alwats prefer real stone and garnites are great for mixing shades to go in spaces .

@Lisa Koop - The best way to buy a countertop material is to go to the stone yards with one door. Your color memory isn’t as good as you think once you enter the stone yard and there are LOTS of slabs. Having a door that represents your future kitchen eliminates a lot of the ones you may think are pretty.
