Probably purple deadnettle (Lamium purpureum) -- in mint family. It blooms in March to April around here (Virginia) -- sooner in a good microclimate. Make sure to eradicate before it blooms!

Glechoma hederacea (Creeping Charlie) can look similar and has similar characteristics.

Ah, of course. Henbit. Shoulda' known. I have Creeping Charlie in pots, and it certainly isn't that. Agree that the lobed leaves are not appropriate to deadnettle. Thank you!
