Hosta E 2024 .... .... . . ... .... .

Oh, my word it is already the 3rd of January. This year is passing by so fast, already. So, grab up your favorite beverage and let's share all E named hostas. Jokes in comments as that seems to be winning combo.

It is cool here finally. I have told the hostas to enjoy it as this may be the only winter they get. I keep hearing Polar Vortex next week. I do have a question about snow? It is the difference between "snow" and "Lake Effect" snow. My understanding is that snow just falls down kind of politely. Whereas lake effect comes in sideways and not to polite.

Too much to ponder. Show us your Es today.

    Lol Paula!

indianagirl what a great sport on a good looking E of N.

Very nice Envy from mbug & old_dirt.

old_dirt the one labeled Earth Angel is beautiful but I do not think it is EA. Love Electrocution. I need to move El Nino and did not even take a pic of it this year.

Ann EW is looking good! Elegans is a real producer.

peren.all - I think you may be correct about my Earth Angel. I never questioned it before but comparing it to othersl and the HL it does have quite rippled/pie crust edges. I've had it for so long and never really paid much attention to it.

Hmmm, wonder what it could be? Thank you

Edited to add - I looked at the Dan Rawson list for rippled hosta in the HL. Good lord, it would take me years to try to compare them all.

Beautiful Es everyone. I actually have 3!!!!! The weather man is telling me it is 39* right now. Maybe still kind of warm for some of you but it looks like a sock kind of a day.

Wonderful hosta pictures, what a break from winter! We should be miss the big snow which is heading for Indianapolis but maybe we will get Lake effect snow since we can get that from Lake Michigan or Lake Huron.

Empress Wu. New this year. Got it for a good price, but have no idea where I would put such a huge growing hosta!!!!! What was I thinking?

Elvis Lives. Last season it grew to a pleasant shape and I really enjoyed its look in the pot.

I planted it in a chunky mix and these seedlings grew there. I didn't remove them so I am not sure they will survive.
