Are you changing the cabinets or just the fridge? If the cabinets aren’t changing get a counter depth the width of the opening. If you are open to some carpentry have someone build sides for the fridge to make it built in, you would probably have to go down to a 30” fridge to have the width for the wood gables.

That is a counter depth but a 35”. They have a 33” and no I’m not changing cabinets. Waiting to save up for a big Reno. I just painted them to make them a tad more updated.

I think it would look better and smaller with finished sides like Hallett suggests.

you did a nice job with your painting work. the kitchen looks fine for a while if a "hold-over" is the goal....[ reno in the future] . the only thing i noticed is your backsplash height looks greater than 18 inches so I would place a shelf between counter and upper cabs. it will get use and the side dimension of fridge will be less an issue. everything looks good.

shelf w brackets..or floating shelves are nice.....I think I'd not install side panels next to fridge considering your longer term goals.

Making it smaller will not make a difference.

Paint the side of your fridge the same color as your cabinets. Great color.

I'd place a tray like this, but with higher sides, on top of your fridge to obscure the large gap between the fridge and the cabinets.

You are going to renovate so this refrigerator is fine. Smaller always means less room inside.

it is odd that appliance makers don’t offer white side panels. must be a secret deal with cabinet companies.
