Are you planning to sit outside on your little patio? Do you want 2 chairs or one? Do you have room for as many chairs as you want? In general, I think you need some low-growing flowering plants for the empty areas in your beds.

If you don't want to sit out, you should add some potted plants on the patio.

I love sitting out when I'm there. This is a second home so when I leave I bring it all indoors. What would you think of dwarf mondo grass for the dirt area. I don't want to feel closed in.

I would add a large outdoor rug to hide the cracks in the concrete.

You could do Sunshine Mimosa. It's a pretty groundcover native to you. Low-growing and flowering.

Thanks for the like. By a "portion" I mean an entire segment of dirt for a clean line between concrete and gravel and the same level... it is very charming. Visualize rendering, exact layout tbd.

Seating like this could be a good choice, Sunbrella fabric, and when you need to bring it inside it wouldn’t look completely out of place next to indoor furniture.

This is an example that could be scaled down for your space: They used pea gravel but rough gravel stays in place better, it locks in place. Depends on if you go barefoot, pea gravel is smooth.

I was thinking of a couple poolside style lounge chairs so you can stretch out...that is why the extra patio space I am suggesting.

I really like the look of the flagstone/rock. No maintenance and more space

It's coming together. Sand and cream morrocan rug. Rock bed where dirt is. Can you show me an example of footstool. Also thinking teal for seat cushions 

Oh, one more question..what size rug for 6x12 patio

Determine rug size after you construct the new patio areas but it should hold all the seating and/or tables. We have outdoor rugs that let the water run through and they dry out right away...no nap. You may not need a rug, we got one because of our rough wood deck. And rugs can get hot in the sun.

A folding footstool and seat/back combo chair pad so something like these examples.

How far out do you own? Would you like a little gate, it wouldn’t have to be concreted in, somewhere on the path out to the walkway? It would help define your space a bit and can look charming. Here’s one from Home Depot, the fencing is separate from the gate. I know I’ve seen much prettier ones! Or, a little low decorative fencing or edging, no gate, can also define your space.
