I love the pigeon and donut jokes 😂..I can see both A and B as the answer to the donut question 🤷‍♀️..

I have a tag for Montana Aureomarginata but I think it died..I remember a spot where I think one was but the last time I looked the hosta was missing..I bought several but I keep just one tag..this pic has an unidentified clump on the left just below the center of the picture..could they be M. Aureomarginata?..

this pic makes me smile today..it's freezing here..about 2 degrees..

    a woodpecker today..

    very nice M's everyone..

indianagirl that is such a great sport on MR. ME is a cutie.

Ann I suppose it is possibly m. A but a bit too far to tell for certain. Good shot of a partial Regal Splendor though! That is an adorable woodpecker.

Color me guilty of the spending on my gardening hobby.

    Magnificent M’s represented here!

Ann, I like that woodpecker photo. For Christmas I got one of those camera birdfeeders. I still haven't put it up yet, but I'm excited to be able to see more birds.

    Midnight Oil

Comments here, then pics in the forum……
I think the center is of the donut is b……isn’t that where the filling would be?? So many great Ms, the Montantas are great, one I couldn’t grow.

Beth, great Midnight at the Oasis and Mourning Dove!

Saija, I am loving Matahari and Moulin Rouge! So different!

Old_dirt, I do like that Moonstruck….. how does the white hold up? Majesty is beautiful 🤩

Laurie, so many good ones, always! What is it about Miss Linda Lee? So blue, wavy, pointy…. Really like it. Your A. Montana is terrific! I wish I had been able to grow it……sigh……does your white on Moonstruck hold its color?

IGG, that sport on Midnight Ride is awesome! Will you separate that out?

Ann, you are not alone in having A Montana die on you……loooove the woodpecker!

Mike, as usual you have some terrific Ms…….you like the mice as do I! How does your Moonstruck hold its color? Nice Marrakech and Maui. I hope mine grows up to be like yours and Laurie’s. I have moved mine probably 4 times…..it always seems to burn with any direct sunlight.

debra - Thank you, not sure how the white in MS holds up, mine was in its first full year. By looking at peren.all's it looks really nice.

Majesty is almost identical to Liberty, even the HL data base states so. Majesty says flowers are "near white" and Liberty is "pale lavendar" (could be the same). Both sports of Sagae but Majesty was introduced one year prior to Liberty.

    Nicholsworth, love the bird photos!

I have a birdbath for the birds year round. Last week my husband asked me if I had seen any Robins. I did not. Two days later, there they were jumping in and out of the birdbath---all eight of them. Fun to watch.

Love the homing pigeon joke, Paula.

The Moonstruck hostas are very pretty.

I admire the group of hosta in a pot, Beth and mbug. I always want to try that and then chicken out. And then I see yours and start thinking about it again! Are they overwintered in the same pot?

Moonlight Sonata---didn't like my pot. Divided it and planted in the garden, and this is one piece. Now it looks happier---crowded, but happier.

thanks newhostalady..we were afraid of freezing and cracking so we took the bowl off the birdbath..we turned it upside down on the ground..it's been "out of order" for weeks..

birds do love water..I think our robins love our birdbath the most of all of our birds..

nicholsworth, I have a portable heater for the birdbath and use that for the winter. I remove it when there is no risk of frost anymore. The birds take winter baths!

newhostalady..I've looked at heaters online..from what I read the ones with cords worked better than solar power..is that what you have?..

I don't have a solar powered one. I've had mine for years and it looks like this:

My birdbath is getting worn and I was looking for one with a built in heater but most of them are too light weight. I put the heater in the birdbath and then put a brick on it. I have raccoons that come and get right on it and wash their feet! The birdbath needs to have some kind of depth to it to accommodate the heater. You also have to be able to refresh the water or clean it once in a while as the birds can be surprisingly dirty after you have a large crowd come to bathe!

    newhostalady..thanks for the information..

birdbaths do get dirty..I bought a brush designed for dishes to clean the birdbath..

    2 doves..2 robins..a goldfinch..

Mike all the mice are terrific, especially MC. The real standout for me is M on T. The HL needs your pic!

Lisa I do like a good shiny leaf and MO really delivers. Your plants are doing so well.

Debra It looks like MI should make a good recovery. MT is sooo cute. It is a shame that m. A is a dud for you. I have had plants that simply would not grow here, Do look for MLS she has dark maroon legs & petioles too adding to her charm. Moonstruck holds colour very well here with sun most of the day. You might need to give it a bit more shade in your zone.

Ann the bird pics are wonderful. I don't put out food or water for them because of raccoons & bears. I do not need to entice them to come closer, Not great for my grandson and dog.

nhl both of yours are on my radar. Every time I see them I wish I had them. I think for most of us our motto is more, more, more!

Laurie..I'd pass on bird feeding too if raccoons and bears came by!..I put out small amounts which disappear..I stopped using suet because it was out overnight and raccoons were coming..

This young bear was watching me. I did not even realize until I was going through my pics. I had seen it a couple of times quite close when I came out and it ran. Clearly it came back to check me out!

Dead centre. It's head is at the top turned to the right. It was sitting down. I am just glad it was satisfied to watch and not come up for a closer look. I hope it does not come back as an older bear.

I feed the birds only what they can eat in a day. I also have a squirrel who can finish off anything that is left in late afternoon. Because of the lake I have traveling birds who know they can get a meal maybe stay overnight and head out. Even in the winter they love a bath. My son and I have geese that also come in and go. We can tell who is new and does not know us to those who land and make it a race to the back fence. I had 2 geese that lived here but after the summer she did not return after a walkabout. I keep telling him he is not going to get a new squeeze unless he gets out of the back yard. Sometimes a zoo.

peren.all - I love black bears, I seek them out when traveling the UP in Michigan and also the Smoky Mountain National Park.

old_dirt great pic. I don't love them as much as you do lol! When I am working in the garden the last thing I want is to be surprised. A very healthy bear on my property had 4 cubs. I normally take my garden debris out into the bush. I did not like the odds on coming between mom & cub(s). My close by piles of debris are getting quite large.

Laurie, that must have been a startling moment when you were going through your photos and saw that a bear was watching you!

Nice pic old_dirt! One thing we don't have is bears.
