Bath tub storage switch

I am taking a tub out of a main floor bath and putting it else where. I need more storage and was wondering if it would be odd to have custom built ins in the space the bathtub took up? They would be in the form of a tall cabinet on top of 4 large drawers.

My dentist's office is in an old apartment building and he had the bathtub covered over with wood and storage cabinets built above. I did a double take the first time I saw it, but it's very clever and allows the bathroom to easily return to its original function for resale. Maybe something like that would work for you.
