I think just getting rid of the yellow walls would have a better impact than painting the cabinets. If you have a large budget then I would also select non yellow floors, backsplashvand counters.

The backsplash is an extension of the countertop. I could pull it off and add tile? Flooring is tile, but what color style would work if I changed it out?

Normally I don't advocate painting wood stained cabinets, but I think this would be an exception. There is a LOT of wood. I get it that it is a cabin but on my monitor it doesn't seem to come together.

A beautiful cream or sage green or even charcoal/black could look amazing. If it is in your budget, I would change the top to something a little simpler.

If you are going to paint the cabinets, I would add some trim on top. It looks a bit unfinished.

Get yourself some poster board or a roll of craft paper and some paint. Try painting the paper and then taping it onto the cabinets to see how you feel about it. I think it is worth it to spend a little bit of money to be sure it comes out the way you wanted.

There are tons of pictures in Google images of wood cabin kitchens. I saw blues, grays, creams greens - lots of inspiration.

Personally , I would not do white.

Would you add tailed backsplash?

I would probably do something a little rustic - maybe a porcelain brick look or slate or even just a simple subway tile .

Personally I like patterned tiles but the woodwork in the room already makes a big enough statement. You could consider a shaped tile - picket, hexagon, herringbone etc and just match the grout color to the tile so the pattern isn't prominent
