Design Dilemma Polls

What size lights?

last year

We currently have 12" barn lights over our garage. They were an online order when we built our house and the color was not right (I wanted yellow and they ended up being an awful dirty metallic gold). I have spray painted them the color I want them (matches our front door) but it's time to change the lights. I think they should be larger, but I'm not sure HOW much larger.

Options are 14" - 20" in increments of 2".

Make sure to double check if the height increases a lot when you go wider.

I would blow up a couple of balloons to the larger sizes and see what you think.

Personally I like a more prominent light fixture.

Yes, the lights do get larger - for 12" the height is 7", and for 20" the height is 9.25" (varies in between). I think the difference in height is not large enough to matter.

I also need to choose a mounting style, which is probably a little more important to the overall look. There are 27 options for that, though, so THAT will be a conundrum!
