The labels on the cans have almost no relation to the stain color. Buy some of every color you are looking at and bring it home and try it out on wood of the same species.

And the clear finish will affect the look. Make your samples fully finished.

The prep work (or lack there of) will also dictate the look of the finish.

If the color is close but needs to be a bit deeper, water pop the wood before staining. This is simply applying a thin coat of water to the sanded wood to raise the grain, then letting it dry before stain application.

The type of wood affects the color, as does the topcoat. Will need to experiment - on wood scraps or back side of the treads, possibly mix colors (keep record of proportions). Sherwin Williams can custom mix stain colors to match - you might try that route.

Well, kinda, sorta...the LVP will of course have many different shades of colors in the wood pattern so you'd have to pick out one specific spot to match the stain to. The real wood will never be an exact match to the LVP but good enough.
